Research Technician

With an MSc background in Chemistry, I undertook a method development project for the optimisation of inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry instrumentation for quantitatively analysing metals in seawater.

As a Research Technician, my current role includes reconstructing growth curves from planktonic foraminifera on the approach, during and after the divergent events using data collected by computed tomography, geochemical laser ablation mass spectrometry analysis (Mg/Ca) and stable isotope measurements.

By storing the collected data in a relational database, I hope to seek how the environmental conditions (temperature and depth) impacts plastic (ecophenotypic) responses may have had on the direction of macro-evolutionary divergence
